Joliet Montessori School Virtual Open House January 24

Joliet Montessori School will hold an online virtual Open House for local families on Sunday, January 24, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Hosted by Head of School Heidi Geiger, the tour will give registered attendees a chance to see the school and learn about its programs from the comfort of home. Families can sign up to attend at the JMS website.

JMS has been open for in-person instruction since last August

JMS is one of the few area schools to have had a normal fall opening and uninterrupted full-time, in-person instruction. Heidi credits the school’s successful adoption of enhanced safety and sanitation protocols to the close-knit JMS community and their belief in the school.

“Because of our exceptional families and staff, JMS was able to quickly adapt to the regulations and best practices required for in-person teaching during the COVID epidemic,” Heidi explains. “We follow all state and federal guidelines to keep students and teachers safe. While this year certainly looks different, the children really cherish the normalcy of working together in class—even if it’s done with masks and screens for now.”

JMS is the only dual-certified Montessori school in Will County, accredited by both the American Montessori Society (AMS) and the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI). It offers programs for students up to the 9th grade, and also offers affordable before- and after-school care for busy families.
