Lakewood Falls Shooter Helped Another Suspect Escape: Police
Romeoville police have secured an arrest warrant for a 20-year-old Joliet man whom police said Jaylan D. Blackwood helped get away.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — A Joliet man charged in a shooting in the Lakewood Falls subdivision last week has also been charged with helping another suspect evade the police, according to records from the Will County Sheriff's Office.
Jaylan D. Blackmore, 23, of the 200 block of Doris Avenue in Joliet, was arrested on Jan. 5. Romeoville police officers and Will County deputies responded around 12:45 p.m. to the area of Budler and Taylor roads after getting a report saying the occupants of two vehicles were shooting at each other.
The sheriff's office responded to two separate reports of homes that were hit by bullets, as well as a parked vehicle that was struck by gunfire, police said. Both homes are in the 14000 block of Lehigh Drive in Plainfield Township.

Two vehicles that were involved in the shooting fled from the scene, including a black Dodge Charger Romeoville police said was driven by Blackmore.
Blackmore was taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility and charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm and aiding and concealing a fugitive.

Commander Robert Fetzer from the Romeoville Police Department told Patch that the department has also secured an arrest warrant for a 20-year-old Joliet man. Fetzer said he has not yet been arrested and the department is "working with a second agency in order to apprehend this suspect."
