Man Dies In Thanksgiving Day Wrong-Way Crash On Route 53
The two-vehicle crash happened just before 7:30 p.m.
LOCKPORT TOWNSHIP — A 36-year-old Joliet man was killed Thursday in a two-vehicle crash on Route 53 south of Renwick Road, authorities said.
Illinois State Police said a Ford F-Series pickup truck was heading south on Route 53 when it was struck head-on by a Mitsubishi Eclipse that was traveling north in the southbound lanes.
The truck's driver, a 33-year-old Joliet man, was taken to an area hospital with injuries not deemed to be life-threatening, authorities said.

The car's driver, identified as Michael Mannino of Joliet, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Will County Coroner's Office.
Illinois State Police are investigating the crash.
