Martin Luther King Day 2018: What's Open, Closed In Romeoville
From grocery stores to government offices, here's a look at what is open and closed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day in Romeoville.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Martin Luther King Day is a federal holiday celebrating Dr. King's birth. The official observation is always on the third Monday of January. In 2018, it falls on King's actual birthday, Jan. 15.
The push to create a holiday celebrating King began just four days after his assassination when Congressman John Conyers introduced legislation for a federal holiday honoring the civil rights leader, according to The King Center. That was in 1968. It wasn't until President Ronald Reagan signed a bill in November 1983 that the holiday became official and national. Still, it would not begin until 1986.
Since not every business, office or school offers the day off, what's open and what's closed can cause confusion. Here is a list to make it easier for you.
