Michael "Mike" Lavelle passes away at 74 with his loving family by his side.

Michael “Mike” Lavelle, age 74, late of Romeoville, and formerly of Texas, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Harbor Chase in Plainfield with his loving family by his side.

Born August 29, 1946 in Scranton, PA, to Cletus Patrick and Marguerite (Zamponi) Lavelle, and was a graduate of Ben Lomond High School in Ogden, UT, and the University of Georgia. Mike began his career as an acquisition executive with Jay Evans Testing Laboratories, which later became PSI, retiring after 42 years of service.

Mike was an avid golfer and scored a hole-in-one at Torey Pines Golf Course. He also enjoyed boating and cooking, but most of all loved being with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Anne Marie (Petteruti) Lavelle of Romeoville; his daughter, Angela (Robert, Jr.) Lavelle Ambroffi of Plainfield; two grandchildren, Maggie Sue Ambroffi and Joseph Michael Ambroffi; and his loving canine buddy, Fluery.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Connie Sue (Milton) Lavelle; and his parents.

Visitation for Michael Lavelle will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, (at Essington Road), Joliet. Face masks and social distancing will be required.

Funeral services will be private, however, the family has requested to live stream the services of their loved one on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. Please click on this link (https://youtu.be/Xm90UTjf2uo) and follow the instructions to show your support for them at a time when you cannot be physically present, but your thoughts, prayers and connection are.

Cremation rites will be accorded following services and interment will be in Georgia at a later date.
