Romeoville Area Chamber To Host Monthly Business Webinars

Tools for Success: Navigating the New Normal is the title of the series that will run from April to August.

ROMEOVILLE, IL —The Romeoville Area Chamber of Commerce has announced it will be hosting a series of five monthly webinars titled Tools for Success: Navigating the New Normal, in which experts will offer advice to help small businesses succeed in the current economic climate and beyond.

The events will take place from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays beginning in April. All but the July program will be on the third Wednesday of the month. Each webinar costs $15. Among the topics that will be discussed are: legal considerations, best practices in digital advertising, brand identity, effective sales techniques, marketing and communications best practices.

The first webinar is on Wednesday April 21 and will feature Julie Proscia, Labor and Employment Practice Group-partner at the law firm SmithAmundsen. As company's are returning to in-person work, Proscia will give employers the most up-to-date information about evolving issues like OSHA safety requirements, CDC and vaccine guidance and how to deal with employees who can't return to work for medical reasons or just refuse to return.

On May 19, Ryan Weckerly of the Morningstar Media Group will discuss marketing and how data and a sound marketing strategy helps businesses reach their intended audience, translates to a strong brand and makes the business more profitable.

The guest for the June 16 webinar is Amanda Brinkman, the creator, producer and host of the hit series "Small Business Revolution," which streams on Hulu and Prime Video. Brinkman will share the lessons learned while working with small businesses across the country and offer the audience actionable advice on marketing and communication best practices.

On Wednesday July 14, Julie Shields, of the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USABE), will host an event called The Art of Pivoting: Strategies for Developing a Flexible Model for the Future. Shields will talk about how the coronavirus pandemic has forced businesses to improve their brand identity, social media engagement and digital advertising. The discussion, which will feature a Q &A, will include information about how to use data to calculate success.

The final webinar will take place on August 18 and feature Bill Guertin, author of the book "The 800 Pound Gorilla of Sales: How to Dominate Your Market."Guertin will teach viewers about what is working currently in sales and marketing, what is predicted to work going forward and what techniques need to be retooled or abandoned.
