Romeoville Fire Department Looking For Junk Vehicles
The fire department will tow the vehicles for free and even give you a letter making your donation tax deductible.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — The Romeoville Fire Department is looking for junk cars they can practice with, so if you have an unused clunker sitting in your drive way, you can get it towed away for free and even get a receipt to deduct it from your taxes. All you need is a valid title for the vehicle.
Officials say the vehicles will be used for hands-on practice in rescuing people from trapped vehicles using the "jaws of life" and other rescue tools. Paramedics will also practice how to remove victims safety from vehicles with cervical collars and backboards to prevent further spinal injuries and fire investigators will use the vehicles to help determine the causes of vehicle fires.

Fire officials say vehicles can be donated in any condition, whether they run or not. They can be dropped off at the fire department or the department will have them towed at no cost to you. Anyone who donates a vehicle will also receive a letter making the donation tax deductible.
