Romeoville Resident Dies After Being Hit By Plainfield Man's Car
Renold Bean was struck by a car driven by a Plainfield resident on I-55 Monday, police said.
ROMEOVILLE, IL — A Romeoville man died after being struck by a car at 5: 20 p.m. Monday, the Illinois State Police said in a release.
A Chevrolet was traveling southbound on I-55 near milepost 269 when Renold Bean, 58, of Romeoville, was crossing the road. He was struck by the car, police said, and transported to the hospital. Bean was pronounced dead at 5:53 p.m. at the Amita Health Adventist Medical Center ER in Bolingbrook, the Will County Coroner's Office reported. An autopsy will be performed Tuesday.
The driver of the Chevrolet, a 62-year-old man from Plainfield, was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police said the left lane of I-55 was closed due to the traffic crash investigation and reopened around 6:39 p.m. There is no further information available at this time.
