Romeoville Mayor To Run Unopposed For His Fourth Term
Mayor John Noak said for him, the highlights of 2020 "were the residents of Romeoville and the hope that brought us together."

ROMEOVILLE, IL — With a strong passion for the well-being of the Romeoville community, Mayor John Noak has filed to run for a fourth term in the April 6 election.
"I am very fortunate to work with an amazing team at the village. Witnessing the talent and dedication of our staff as they’ve worked creatively to keep our community moving forward this past year has given me even more energy," Noak said. "I am very excited to work with our board, staff and community as we continue to strengthen and reinvest in our entire community moving beyond the pandemic."
He was appointed as the mayor of the village in 2008 and won his first full term in 2009. He also served as a village trustee before that.

Noak said despite the challenges of the pandemic, Romeoville has fared better than many places throughout the country. His team has spent the past decade preparing the community for potential economic downturns.
"Fortunately, we have diversified our local economy and continued to see new developments in several sectors," he said. "The greatest highlight isn’t any of the various projects that still moved forward this year. What I am most proud of is the way that our staff came together to be innovative to provide new programs and assistance to our residents during these exceptional times."

Instead of dwelling on the hurdles of 2020, Noak said he will remember the sight of residents coming together to celebrate Independence Day a unique, safely designed fireworks show, or how they came together during the Winter Light Festival.
"I will remember people sharing their voice on so many important issues facing us all with respect and dignity. I will remember the countless people that volunteered to help others at a food bank, birthday parades, making masks or donating blood," he said. "The highlights of 2020 were the residents of Romeoville and the hope that brought us together"
Moving forward, Noak has many exciting plans for the village. He said good leadership is about having the right team, and he has been fortunate to "have one of the best around." Together, Noak said they have always worked to put the village in the "strongest shape we can" and will continue to build upon that to "take us even farther."
He said they have implemented many initiatives last year and will continue to work with the local, state and federal partners to fully explore any opportunities to further assist residents and businesses as the pandemic continues.
"There are already several projects in the works that we anticipate being able to announce this year. Just some examples are the construction of the new aquatic center, the new dog park, the opening of the new Ovation Center for Senior Services of Will County and several more.," Noak said. "Leading in trying times means having faith in the people, your team and the countless allied organizations we work with."
Noak is running unopposed in this election and whether there is competition or not, he will continue working hard for "everyone in our community."
"We've had competitive races in the past and uncontested as well. Neither changes our commitment," he said. "The work we do each and every day is the most important thing."
