Romeoville Purchases Mobile Command Center
The village paid $418,410 for the vehicle, and Citgo donated $50,000 for some features
The Village of Romeoville recently purchased a mobile command center, according to a village press release.
“Safety is a top priority in our community. This will allow staff to respond in a more efficient manner and coordinate efforts in one location at the scene,” said Mayor John Noak in the release.
The vehicle will seat 13 command personnel and three radio operators. Romeoville first responders have used tents before to manage critical incidents.

The Citgo Lemont Refinery donated $50,000 for a phone system, weather station system and camera system with a 39-foot mast to the vehicle.
"The Village is one of the lead agencies if an incident occurs at Citgo and collectively the village and Citgo would benefit from a centralized mobile command center," Village Manager Steve Gulden said in an email.

The contribution was a result of a mutual agreement between the village and Citgo, according to Pete Colarelli, the government and public affairs manager of the Lemont refinery.
The vehicle is under construction in Wisconsin and is expected to arrive in March.
