Crash Closed Taylor Road For Over An Hour, No Fatalities Reported

A crash involving a semi-truck closed a portion of Taylor Road to all traffic on Wednesday, Dec. 4. As of 2:50 p.m., the road had re-opened.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — A crash involving a semi truck and another vehicle closed Taylor Road between Weber & Pinnacle, the Romeoville Police announced just after 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4. Drivers were encouraged to re-route via Renwick or Romeo Road. As of 2:45 p.m., the police tweeted that Taylor Road had re-opened and was ready for traffic.

Mike Gale, a Battalion Chief for the Lockport Township Fire Protection District, told Patch about the cause of the crash:

"A semi-truck... was pulling out onto Taylor and a vehicle drove into the trailer and wedged the vehicle underneath the trailer," he said. "There was one driver in the vehicle... it took some heavy extrication to get her out, but thankfully no life-threatening injuries. She was transported to Bolingbrook Hospital."

Gale said the driver of the truck was uninjured and that no fatalities were reported.

Though the crash occurred within Romeoville, Gale said the particular stretch of road on which it took place fell under the jurisdiction of Lockport Township Fire Protection District. A ladder truck and an ambulance from the District responded to the scene.
