Romeoville Village Facilities Converting to LED Lighting

Conversion to LED would provide a 93% reduction in energy use per year

Four Village of Romeoville buildings, including the Recreation Center, will be converting all of their lighting to LED. An audit of the 120 lighting fixtures being considered for the switch found that a conversion to LED would save 131,125 kilowatt hours of energy (a 93% reduction) per year and see a 100% reduction in maintenance costs over the next 10 years.

“The Village of Romeoville is always looking for ways to be more efficient and environmentally conscious,” stated Mayor John Noak. “This LED conversion is a fairly simple thing with big benefits.”

As an added bonus, ComEd is providing significant incentives for this conversion through their Small Business and Standard Program, covering 77% (over $100,000) of the project costs.
