Romeoville's Dakota Vostry Qualifies for IHSA State Bowling Tournament

Spartans' senior averages 228.7 for six games to nail down a berth at the Andrew Sectional.

For six games, Romeoville High School's Dakota Vostry maintained a torrid pace.

He averaged 228.7 during competition at the Andrew Sectional on Saturday at Orland Bowl. And, with a pinfall total of 1,372, he qualified for the IHSA state tournament Friday and Saturday at St. Clair Bowl in downstate O'Fallon.

Vostry led Romeoville to an eighth-place finish in the sectional with a team score of 6,131. Minooka won the sectional championship with a total of 6,510. Five others also advanced in the team competition: Lockport (6,461), Morgan Park (6,331), Oswego (6,286), Andrew (6,270) and Bolingbrook (6,240).

Vostry finished 131 pins behind individual medalist Zach Segatto of Minooka. Segatto had a pinfall total of 1,503.
