Four Injured In Three-Vehicle Crash On Route 53: Police

Romeoville PD said the crash is still under investigation and the victims were transported to AMITA Bolingbrook Hospital.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — A three-vehicle crash in Romeoville on Wednesday cause multiple injuries, according to the police.

The Romeoville Police Department responded at 2:16 p.m. to the area of Route 53 at Murphy Drive where three cars — a red Chevrolet Traverse, a gray Honda CR-V, and a gray BMW X5 — were involved in a crash.

The Chevrolet was occupied by a female driver, 58, and the Honda CR-V was occupied by a female driver, 33, and two passengers, a 74-year-old man and a 58-year-old woman. All four occupants were transported to AMITA Bolingbrook Hospital for their injuries by the Romeoville Fire Department, police said.

The 38-year-old male driver of the BMW refused any medical attention while on scene.

Commander Robert Fetzer told Patch that the crash is still under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.

Route 53 was closed for an hour, but is now open and can be used by residents, he said.
