Valley View School District Cancels Classes Until Friday

All after-school activities are also canceled, starting at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

ROMEOVILLE, IL —The Valley View School District, which includes schools in Romeoville and Bolingbrook, has cancelled all classes and after-school activities for Wednesday, Jan. 30, and Thursday, Jan. 31, due to extremely cold forecasted temperatures, officials said Tuesday.

Weather officials are warning of life-threatening cold over the next several days. The National Weather Service says wind chills may fall to 55 degrees below zero Tuesday night through Thursday morning. Such low temperatures can cause the rapid onset of frost bite and hypothermia.

All district buildings will close at 6 p.m. Tuesday, and all school activities scheduled for after 6 p.m. are canceled.
