Village Leaders Appointed To State And National Committees

Romeoville Mayor John Noak and Village Trustee Ken Griffin were appointed to state and national committees, according to a news release.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Romeoville Mayor John Noak has been appointed to the National League of Cities 2019 Transportation and Infrastructure Services committee, according to a news release. The federal advocacy committee has the lead responsibility for developing the NLC's policy positions on federal transportation issues, including planning, funding, safety and security.

"I'm honored to be appointed to this important committee for the National League of Cities," Noak said. "I am happy to represent the residents of Romeoville and communities like ours on it."

As a member of the committee, Noak will play a key role in shaping the NLC's policy positions. He will use the role to advocate on behalf of American's cities and towns in Washington, according to the news release.

Noak also serves on the Council on Youth, Families and Education, and the University Communities Council. Earlier this year, he was reappointed to the executive board of the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning and re-elected chairman of the Des Plaines River Valley Enterprise Zone, according to the news release.

Village Trustee Ken Griffin was also re-appointed to the Illinois Municipal League's Land Use Policy Committee for 2019.
