VVSD Launches Family Survey To Get Feedback On Remote Learning
Assistant superintendent of schools Rachel Kinder said feedback from parents is essential to "guide our planning."
ROMEOVILLE, IL — The Valley View School District has launched a survey to gather feedback regarding the remote learning practices the schools had to employ due to the coronavirus pandemic, assistant superintended of schools Rachel Kinder said in a release Thursday, May 21.
"The goal of the Family Survey is to gather our parents' and guardians' voices about what has worked well and what can be improved with rLearning and about how we can support students upon a return to on-site instruction," she said. "Your partnership and voice are a critical element that will guide our planning."
The survey will be open through Friday, May 29, and can be accessed here. Students will receive a separate link.
Kinder also stated that Tuesday, May 26, is the final day of attendance for the 2019-2020 school year, and she commends the VVSD community for collaborating and adjusting to the unique learning environment.
"We are approaching a major milestone in our work as a community in adjusting learning for our students," she said. "I cannot emphasize enough how proud I am to be part of the
VVSD community."

Kinder said efforts are underway to plan for the next school year and while there is a sense of relief for having made through this monumental change, there is "a sense of loss for many of our traditions" along with an uncertainty for what the future holds.
However, she has faith in the community and her staff.
