Windy City Grill Will Follow Restrictions To 'Keep Everyone Safe'

ROMEOVILLE, IL — An eatery in the village that has been serving the community for over two decades now, was finally able to reopen indoor dining once again after Gov. J.B. Pritzker lifted some coronavirus restrictions last week and allowed Will County restaurants and bars to resume indoor service at 25 percent capacity.

"This will be great for our business as people are excited to dine in," said owner of Windy City Grill Dhimo Jano. "We feel good about the lifting of the ban. We've been doing fine but without a drive-thru, it has been quite tough."

The restaurant is working hard to ensure safety of the guests and is taking all possible sanitary precautions, including a deep cleaning of all the table before and after every new diner.

"It's tough to disagree with the restrictions because we want to keep everyone safe. We have no choice," he said of the 25 percent capacity limit rule. "We've also been keeping outdoor dining open."

Since 2000, this family-run business has been a staple in the community and it prides itself on treating guests as family, delivering the best experience as well as fresh, authentic mouthwatering fares.

State officials had imposed Tier 3 restrictions across the state last fall when coronavirus cases were surging. While that was challenging, Jano said they were able to stay open because of the immense support from Romeoville residents.

"It's horrible that a lot of places had to shut down and a lot of families are suffering from that so that’s horrible," he said, "but luckily we were able to stay open and thanks to the community we have been doing well. Our staff would like to say thank you to the romwoville and surrounding communities for supporting us during these times. We do our best to satisfy everyone and keep everyone safe and clean."
