11th Annual North Shore Restaurant Month Begins

More than 90 restaurants in north Cook County are offering discounted dining deals starting Friday and throughout the month of February, as Chicago's North Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau sponsors the 11th edition of North Shore Restaurant Month.

Offers include special prix frix menus, two-for-one deals, free items with entrée and more at dozens of longtime local favorites as well as some recently opened restaurants participating in the promotion for the first time.

“The culinary talent and dining options on Chicago’s North Shore are unlike any other region in the country,” said Gina Speckman, executive director of the bureau. “Not only do we have gifted and award-winning chefs, but the diversity of the cuisine that is offered rivals any major city in the world."

“No matter what you have a taste for, you’ll find it on the North Shore," Speckman said, encouraging everyone to enjoy the month of discounted dining whether or not they live in the area.

“While most communities offer a ‘Restaurant Week,’ ours is a full month to give people plenty of time to try something new or visit an old favorite,” Speckman said. “Many have told us that they plan their calendar around it, visiting several restaurants for lunch or dinner each week. And, with these offers and discounts, North Shore Restaurant Month is the perfect time to do it!”

As part of North Shore Restaurant Month promotions, free coffee is available from 8 to 9 a.m. at the following times and locations:

• Thursday, Feb. 7 at Hometown Coffee in Glencoe
• Thursday, Feb. 14 at Leonides in Northbrook (all other offers are not valid on Valentines Day)
• Thursday, Feb. 21 at Glenview Grind
