165 District 219 Students Among Top Illinois Student Scholars
Dozens of seniors from Niles North and Niles West high schools were recognized among the top 10 percent of high school seniors.
SKOKIE, IL — Dozens of Niles Township High School District 219 students were named among the top high school seniors in the state by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission following a year of almost entirely remote instruction.
For more than 60 years, the commission has been recognizing Illinois state scholars, a designation given to the top 10 percent of graduating seniors statewide. Scholars are chosen by a combination of standardized testing scores and class rank during the second semester of junior year, according to ISAC.
A total of 83 Niles North seniors and 82 Niles West seniors qualified as 2021-22 State Scholars. There were 67 state scholars at neighboring Evanston Township High School.

"ISAC is pleased to recognize Illinois high school students who have been named 2021-22 State Scholars for their outstanding academic achievement," according to its website. "The 2021-22 designation applies to the year students will begin their postsecondary education."
