SKOKIE, IL — Murphy Development Group, a division of Murphy Real Estates in Chicago, is partnering with the village of Skokie to ensure completion of a $68 million mixed-use development at the corner of Lincoln Avenue and Oakton Street. The project, known as 8000 North, will be a 12-story tower with 153 luxury units, a 265-space parking garage and 15,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor. Once completed, it will be the first new rental apartment development in Skokie in decades, according to a news release from Murphy Development Group.

"We are fully engaged with all parties in the programming and progression of the development," John Murphy, chairman and CEO of Murphy Development Group said in a statement. "Beyond the exceptional location and attributes of the project, we are confident the development will stand as a great example of how public private partnerships can successfully work together."

The project will be financed jointly between Murphy Real Estate Services and 8000 North LLC.
