84-Year-Old Man Dead In Lincolnwood House Fire
Fire officials said the man was unresponsive when crews pulled him from a home on Karlov Avenue.

LINCOLNWOOD, IL — An 84-year-old man is dead after a house fire Monday in Lincolnwood, authorities said.
Firefighters were dispatched to fire in the the 6900 block of North Karlov Avenue fire around 4:15 p.m. They found a man unresponsive as he was pulled from the home. He was taken to St. Francis Hospital and pronounced dead five hours later, according to firefighters and the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
"Seemed like what happened was he wasn't physically able to get out fast enough," said Lincolnwood Fire Chief Michael Hansen.

The man's identity and cause of death have yet to be released by the medical examiner's office.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, Hansen said.
