Thieves smashed through the drywall.

Thieves got away with cash and other valuables in the burglary of a currency exchange sometime Thursday night or Friday morning.

An unknown offender or offenders entered the business, at 4035 Oakton through the front door after smashing through drywall, said Skokie Police Officer Joseph Marzigliano.

They took an undetermined amount of currency, coins, stamps and City of Chicago stickers, he said. They also damaged and tore down two security cameras and left the business through the south door.

The break-in occurred during the overnight hours, between 9:40 p.m. Nov. 14 and 6:40 a.m. on Nov. 15.
