Dempster Street Road Work To Close Lanes In Skokie, Morton Grove

SKOKIE, IL — Daily lane closures due to road work are set to start next week on Dempster Street in Skokie and Morton Grove, the Illinois Department of Transportation announced.

Patching, resurfacing, replacement of curbs and gutters and improvements to accessibility ramps on Dempster Street between Waukegan Road and Skokie Boulevard will require intermittent lane closures, according to IDOT.

The closures are scheduled to begin Monday, weather permitting, and the work is expected to be complete by June 2020, according to the department.

During the project, lanes on Dempster Street will be reduced in work zones. Drivers were asked to pay close attention to signs and flaggers in work zones and be alert for workers and equipment.
