Holy Week at St Peter's UCC Skokie
Holy Week Services, Easter Sunday Worship and Egg Hunt for Kids --- Apr 5-12 at St Peter's UCC, 8013 Laramie St in Skokie
Holy Week is a special time at St. Peter’s. We offer the complete array of worship experiences, which include Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday. Our services include traditional elements – palms on Palm Sunday, the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper on Maundy Thursday, and the Last Words of Christ on Good Friday. We also include some newer traditions, like an Egg Hunt for children after the worship service on Easter Sunday. We hope you’ll join us as we celebrate these holiest of days in the Christian faith. All are welcome – we are an Open and Affirming Congregation, and we invite all families and persons in our community to join us.
Palm Sunday: April 5th at 10am - Welcome Jesus into Jerusalem with us!
Maundy Thursday: April 9th at 7pm - Join us as we remember Jesus' Last Supper, and share in Holy Communion

About St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Skokie
Saint Peter’s was established on May 5, 1867, as St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church by German immigrant farmers. It was the first church organized in what was then called Niles Center. In 1957, St. Peter’s adopted the new, progressive denomination of United Church of Christ. Then in June 2018, we became officially designated as an Open and Affirming congregation. Our church is more than 150 years old … our thinking is not. We worship in grace and beauty, fellowship in love and friendship, and serve the Lord with humility and passion. Located at the corner of Oakton and Laramie, across the street from the Village Hall and the Library, we are the heart of our neighborhood, and plan to be here for (at least) another 150 years.
