IHSA Reveals Football Schedule: See Who Niles Township Teams Face
The Vikings and the Wolves are scheduled to square off against one another in the second week of the season.
SKOKIE, IL — As school and public health officials continue to refine coronavirus safety guidelines for youth sports, the Illinois High School Association announced this year's varsity football schedule for teams across the state, including both Niles Township high schools.
The Niles North Vikings, coached by Patrik Pistorio, kick off their season on Aug. 28 with a home game against Waukegan High School.
After switching from the Central Suburban League's south division to its north one, the Wolves finished last season with a 3-6 record, their most wins since 2015.

Niles West finished last season winless for the second consecutive year. This year, head coach Matt Hohs hopes to lead the Wolves to their first win since their Oct. 17, 2017, victory over Niles West.
The rivals are set for their second non-conference Sept. 7 on Niles West's home ground.

Things are expected to look different under Friday night lights this fall, as the Illinois Department of Public Health aims to gradually lift restrictions on contact in time for high school sports at the start of the 2020-21 school year.
But it's up to local school districts to determine how to implement the new safety guidelines.
