Wondering where your ancestors came from and what they were like? The Chicago Jewish Genealogical Society of Illinois will explore the use of technology in genealogy during a conference at Temple Beth Israel in Skokie on June 9, according to Jewish Genealogical Society of Illinois.
The one-day conference called Digging Deeper Researching Our Ancestors with Technology offers sessions ranging from an overview of key genealogy databases to how to start unearthing information about ancestors.

Niles resident Debbie Kroopkin, who will chair the event, says she became interested in genealogy when she visited her grandparents in Florida while in college and even united with a distant relative – a Holocaust survivor from Poland who was searching for family because most of hers had passed away, Skokie Review reported.
