Kevin Wood Brings His Cabaret Show, "Sentimental Journeys: A Cabaret Travelogue" to the Skokie Theatre

CHICAGO, IL - Kevin Wood’s popular and heart-warming cabaret show, “Sentimental Journeys: A Cabaret Travelogue,” is coming Thursday, October 23rd at 8:00 p.m. to the Skokie Theatre in Skokie, Illinois.

Based on his lifelong love of travel, the show combines Kevin’s signature wit, charm, and vocal talents in a program featuring a delightful variety of travel-themed musical standards, both poignant and comedic. He says: “This show is a combination of real travel experiences I’ve had and some fictional ones, as well. But I leave it to the audience to figure out which is which!”

Having studied voice and performing at Luther College and the University of Illinois, Wood embraces the challenges of cabaret—which include the proximity of the audience as well as the necessity of being a good storyteller and vocalist. And he is committed to bringing the intimate warmth of the cabaret experience to audiences of all ages and interests, saying: “I love the way audiences respond to the ‘one-on-one’ feel of the show and that I get to see the reactions in their eyes and hear their sighs and laughter.”

Although “Sentimental Journeys: A Cabaret Travelogue” is an adult-themed show, its gentle and touching comedy can be enjoyed by all ages. And Kevin hopes that audiences will come with the idea of joining him for a “cabaret staycation.”
