Lincolnwood Elections 2013: Mayoral, Trustee, School Board Candidates

Despite its small population, the Village of Lincolnwood is anything but boring. There are several races happening with big implications on Tuesday, April 9, 2013.

To kick things off, here is who is running for mayor:

• Incumbent Mayor Gerald "Jerry" Turry said he would not be seeking reelection in November of 2012. About one month later, he changed his mind. Turry is seeking his current seat as an Independent. Check out Turry's response to Skokie Patch's questionnaire here.
• Former Lincolnwood Mayor Peter Moy is seeking his old seat eight years later. Moy is running under the Forward Vision Party. To read Moy's answers
• Former Village Clerk and Library Board Trustee Georgia Talaganis is the only candidate who hasn't been mayor of Lincolnwood at one point or another. She currently has the support of all the village's trustees and is running under the Independent Party of Lincolnwood. See what Talaganis said in response to Skokie Patch's questionnaire here.

Village Trustee:

There are three open seats and nine candidates:

• Incumbent Lawrence Elster (Independent Party of Lincolnwood).
• Incumbent John Swanson (Independent Party of Lincolnwood).
• Demerise "Reese" Gratch (Independent Party of Lincolnwood).
• Ronald Cope (Independent).
• Jean Ikezoe-Halevi (Independent).
• Craig Klatzco (Independent).
• Mira Mazur (Forward Vision Party).
• Martin Youkhanna (Forward Vision Party).
• Jennifer Spino (Forward Vision Party).

Lincolnwood School District 74:

There are four seats and one uncontested two-year term:

• Incumbent Scott Anderson
• Incumbent Georjean Hlepas-Nickell (Uncontested two-year term.)
• Incumbent Kevin Daly
• Incumbent John Vranas
• Kathyrn O'Brien
• Meeta Vakil
• Mahmood Khan

Village Clerk:

• Former Village Clerk Carol Krikorian is seeking her old seat this April 9. She is running under Moy's Forward Vision Party.
• Incumbent Beryl Herman is seeking another term. Herman is running under the Independent Party of Lincolnwood.
