Robbery attempt at 7-Eleven
Officers responded to a robbery at 7-Eleven, 3441 Church St., on March 20. According to police, a man approached the counter and said, "Do you accept Link cards?" The employee said they do not.
The man then said to the clerk, "Give me all the money in the drawer," according to the report. At that point, a second customer approached the counter, causing the offender to flee the scene, police said.

The suspect was described as a black male, about 5-foot-10, medium build, wearing a black coat over a hooded sweatshirt, police said.

Police responded to a burglary at an apartment in the 8200 block of Niles Center Road on March 20. According to the report, a resident told police that an unknown person broke through the front door of the apartment building and removed a white envelope containing $200, the report stated.
Fire hazard
Officers responded to a disorderly conduct complaint near Talbots in Old Orchard Mall on March 20. According to police, an unknown person removed a fire extinguisher from a stairwell in the parking garage.
