New Subscription Curbside Composting Service Available in Skokie

Collective Resource offers composting pickup service for compostables and food scraps by subscription for Skokie residences and businesses.

May 3 through 9 is International Compost Awareness Week! Skokie residents, please consider signing up for the new curbside composting service available from Collective Resource.

Did you know that food scraps and other organics make up 30% of the waste stream? Choosing to compost this material instead of sending to a landfill is an easy step to help the environment.

Skokie is proud to partner with Collective Resource, a compost and food scrap pickup service that collects all food waste and compostable products from homes, businesses,
and institutions and takes them to a commercial composting site. The food scraps are turned into a nutrient-rich soil amendment instead of creating greenhouse gasses from sitting in a landfill. A clean, empty bucket is swapped with the bucket left for pickup.
