Niles North Theatre Presents "Speech and Debate" - an Online Show

Join us for the first production of the year and Niles North Theatre's FIRST EVER ONLINE production of "Speech and Debate" by Stephen Karam!

The Niles North Theatre Department is kicking off the year with its 27th annual Director’s Circle project and an historic, first ever, one-of-a-kind ONLINE production. The Director’s Circle Team consists of select members of the Thespian Troupe after a rigorous audition and interview process. This group of both Juniors and Seniors worked independently throughout the summer in areas of acting, design, and stage management to apply what they have learned from both extra curricular production experience as well as the four levels of theatre classes at Niles North. This year, the project transformed in both rehearsal and production according to appropriate social distancing guidelines proving that theatre can still thrive.

Director’s Circle members include: Amanda Blatt, Roy Gantz, Tom Henry, Nate Lesperance, Samantha Ratliff, and Amy Shapiro.

Join us from home on Thursday, August 27 at 7pm as we launch this historic showing of Stephen Karam’s “Speech and Debate”. Improbable circumstances bring three isolated teenagers together as unlikely friends. Sex, drama, politics, and discrimination rock their world and the hypocrisy within it. The unexpected trio fights for what's right - as they discover what they believe in.
*This production contains adult language and content.
