Niles West Hosts a Sweet Homecoming the week of October 9 - 12
The Homecoming Parade is at 1:40 pm on October 12 and goes N on Gross Point, W on Monroe, S on Central, E on Reba & back down Gross Point.
Niles West is planning a nostalgic Homecoming to be held the week of October 9 through 12. Take a sweet trip down memory lane with Niles West. This year’s theme is “Candyland.”
All Niles West alumni are invited to take part in the events on Friday, October 12. The Homecoming Parade will start at 1:40 p.m. in the Niles West Student parking lot (on Oakton), traveling north on Gross Point Road, west on Monroe Street, then south on Central Avenue, east on Reba Street, south on Gross Point Road and west on Oakton Street back to the school. Niles West alumni are invited to meet with former classmates in the Alumni Tent beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the corner of Mike Basrak Stadium. The Niles West Varsity football players will play Niles North at 7 p.m.
During the halftime celebration, the newest inductees to the Niles West Athletic Hall of Fame will be recognized. The 2018 Class includes: George Kontos (2003) Baseball; Alisa Kusolvisitkul (2003) Girls Cross Country/Track and Field; Bill Mitz (1972) Football; Blake Lorenz (1973) Baseball; Judy Banathy Flaherty (1982) Girls Basketball; Robert Casey (1974) Boys Soccer/Track and Field; Joe Brennan (Coach) Boys and Girls Soccer; the 1972 Football Team and Dr. Nicholas Mannos (Distinguished Service Award).
