Niles West Team Crowned State Champion at VEX Robotics Tournament

Team 321H "Havoc" was crowned the Tournament Champion

This past weekend, Niles West hosted the VEX Robotics State Championships with 56 teams across the state competing in 98 qualifying matches. Niles West’s team 321H “Havoc” was crowned the Tournament Champion. Team members are Erick Dunker, Thomas Mitchell, Chad Beutelspacher, Alex Kubit, Tommy Nguyen, and Kiel Hall. The runner-up was Niles North’s 333R “Los Robos,” consisting of Nick Precht, Steven Doyiakos, Jason Melnick, Hassam Uddin, Connor Kohm and Owen Stephenson. “Brotherhood of Steel,” Niles North team 333E was named a tournament Semifinalist whose members are . These teams advance to the VEX World Championships held April 24 to 27 in Louisville, KY. The VEX Robotics World Championship, presented by the Northrop Grumman Foundation, brings together top robotics teams in the VEX IQ Challenge, VEX Robotics Competition, and VEX U under one roof to celebrate their accomplishments and participate with the best teams from around the world.
