Coronavirus: Non-Essential Business Closures Announced in Skokie

A comic book store and yoga studio were among the downtown Skokie businesses closing their doors under the stay at home order.

SKOKIE, IL — Aw Yeah Comics announced Monday that they would be one of many non-essential businesses closing their doors as part of Gov. JB Pritzer's Stay at Home order, which took place on Saturday and will run through April 7. Over the past week, several other downtown Skokie businesses have either closed or reduced their hours of operation in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

In a Facebook post sent Monday, Aw Yeah Comics stated that they are not sure how long the closure will last but the store completely supports the steps taken to reduce the spread of the coronavirus. The store will be offering e-Gift cards and shipping during the closure and is planning to launch a new web store this week, the post read.

North Branch Yoga announced its closure last week but posted Monday that it will be offering online classes. Additional information about these classes is available at northbranchyoga.com.
Although some companies were forced to close their doors, other downtown businesses were deemed essential and instead offered reduced hours of operation.
