Featured Obituary:

David Anthony (Poppy) Dezelan passed away unexpectedly from complications of Multiple Myeloma on June 21, 2021. David was born on October 12, 1946 in Indianapolis, Indiana where he attended Cathedral High School. David went on to play division one football at the University of Louisville where he met his one true love and life partner, Annette Gohmann, who became his wife of 53 unbelievable years. David and Annette have lived in Lake Bluff, Illinois for 49 years where David had a very successful 36 year career with Abbott Labs. Upon retirement in 2006 David achieved his life-long dream of cycling with his buddies across the country from San Francisco, California to Savannah, Georgia.

David was an accomplished student of classical music frequently hosting friends in his home music theatre and listening to music under the stars at Ravinia. David savored fine red wine and enjoyed bird watching on the bluff above Lake Michigan.

Above all, David was an extraordinary husband, father, grandfather, brother. With his optimistic and courageous view of life, he was a genuine, kind and beloved friend to many. He was active in the Lake Bluff community with a passion for the Historical Society, The Lake Bluff Lawn Mower Precision Drill Team and all activities in support of his two very athletic daughters.
