Featured Obituary:

Susan S. Adler, 90, passed away July 1, 2021. Born in Chicago, raised in Highland Park, Sue spent much of her adult life in California until she returned to Chicago.

Sue was certified as a Physical Therapist at Northwestern University and received her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. She was a world-renowned Physical Therapist, while also co-authoring several books, teaching, and mentoring PT’s.

An amateur pilot, Susan loved being in the air. She tried hang gliding and skydiving and was a part of a female plane-racing group, participating in the Powder Puff Derby. She was also a certified flight instructor and HAM radio operator.

Sue was an avid learner, taking classes in various topics, even making the switch to virtual classes for the last year.

Always thinking of others, Sue was a philanthropist both financially and volunteering her time. She supported the Arts – the Lyric Opera and The Chicago Symphony. She was also an election judge and a voter registrar.

An animal lover from birth, Sue volunteered at animal shelters, spent early morning hours rescuing birds in Chicago and was an animal foster parent – several times turning into a “foster failure”.
