Skokie Festival of Cultures Turns 23 This May

Since 1991, the Skokie Festival of Cultures has attracted dozens of cultures and thousands of visitors. This year, it turns 23.

Happy birthday, Skokie Festival of Cultures! This year, you turn 23. In two years, you can rent a car (we joke).

The Festival of Cultures has attracted almost 400,000 visitors and more than a dozen cultures since its inception in 1991.

The 2013 Festival of Cultures will be held at Oakton Park, 4701 Oakton St., on May 18 and 19 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

What are some of the highlights?

Besides the food, music and dance, Binny's Beverage Depot will be hosting an International Beer Tasting, which is the most educational way to consume alcohol. There will also be a merchandise bazaar and a variety of cultural booths on display.
