7 p.m. Crash Course in Crowdfunding

The lecture teaches the basics of the crowdfunding movement such as Kickstarter and Indiegogo and also offers a review of how to get started using popular crowdfunding websites.

Tuesday

9:30 a.m.  How to Write a Business Plan

The two-hour program offers help on developing business plans. 

4:30 p.m. Money, Money, Money

Ross Mathee of North Shore Community Bank will teach kids about money and the importance of saving. 

7 p.m. The Ins and Outs of Property Taxes

Niles Township Assessor Scott Bagnall will lead a discussion on the factors that affect tax bills and review options and strategies in response to the 2013 reassessment. 

Wednesday

7 p.m. Knock Out That Debt

Participants can learn ways to reduce debts through planning and communication with creditors. 

Thursday

7 p.m. Couponing with the Shopper’s Apprentice

Christy Silkatis of the Shopper’s Apprentice will lead a workshop on the art of couponing. 

Saturday

2 p.m. The Financial Aid Process

This workshop outlines the financial aid process, introduces the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, summarizes state and federal aid programs and indentifies trusted sources of information.
