Skokie St. Patrick's Day Parade Leads To 2 Parties, Pot O' Gold
Everyone is invited to take part in the 2019 St. Patrick's Day parade and march through downtown Skokie Sunday afternoon.

SKOKIE, IL — The biggest St. Patrick's Day parade on the North Shore begins Sunday in Skokie, and everyone is invited to participate. The parade starts at noon on Sunday in the 7900 block of Lincoln Avenue, across from the Skokie Theater.
There will be no floats, as Skokie community members of all nationalities will march behind a drummer, bagpiper and Mayor George Van Dusen north along Lincoln Avenue. Scooters, wagons and bicycles are welcome to take part.
The march will head to a pair of after-parties at Lincoln Avenue and Madison Street.

A family party with children's games is set to take place at Madison School, 5100 Madison St., while the other party is hosted by The Curragh, 8266 Lincoln Ave. It will feature Irish-themed entertainment, food and drink.
A "Pot O' Gold drawing" is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the charitable work of the Skokie Valley's Kiwanis Club.

The event is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club and the Downtown Skokie Alliance. Donations can be provided to defray the costs of entertainment, permits, public safety and other expenses for the parade and family party.
