Thursday Blotter: Water in the Gas Tank

DUI
Andrzej Partyka, 35, of Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on Jan. 11. Partyka was stopped in the 9200 block of Ridgeway Avenue when another motorists told dispatchers that Partyka may be driving intoxicated, the report stated. When they approached the driver, they found him sleeping with his foot on the brake and an open alcoholic beverage in the cup holder, the report stated.
The driver had a blood alcohol content level of .216, according to the report.

Theft from auto
A brick was used to smash the driver's side window of a car parked in the 8200 block of Larmaie Avenue on Jan. 12. According to the report, a cell phone was removed from the vehicle.

Water in gas tank
A man told police that an unknown person put water in his scooter's gas tank on Jan. 25. The vehicle was left unattended in the backyard of a home in the 3500 block of Church Street, the report stated.
Macy's theft
Sameha Sewilam, 40, of Chicago, was charged with felony retail theft on Jan. 28. Sewilam selected several high-end jeans from Macy's in Old Orchard Mall and attempted to leave the store without paying, the report stated.
Retail theft
An 11-year-old male was charged with retail theft after trying to steal a North Face jacket from Nordstrom in Old Orchard Mall on Jan. 12.
DUI
Sara Binder, 23, of Skokie, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs on Jan. 20. Binder was stopped in the 4400 block of Demspter Street for a traffic violation. The driver refused to provide a Breathalyzer sample, but was charged with a DUI after failing a field sobriety test, the report stated.
Threatening messages
A man reported receiving threatening text messages from someone known to him on Jan. 23.
