Weather Advisory: Heavy Snowfall to Run Through Midnight

The National Weather Service of Chicago issued a winter storm warning this afternoon. Expect four to eight inches of snow.

Skokians might want to park on the even side of the street tonight.

The National Weather Service of Chicago (NWSC) has issued a winter storm warning that’s supposed to last through midnight.

According to the NWSC, periods of snow will be heavy at times and will continue into the early evening before tapering off. “This will have a large impact on the evening rush,” the NWSC said.

The storm warning will remain in effect until midnight and estimated accumulation totals are at four to eight inches of snow, possibly higher, according to the NWSC.

“This snow composition is of the heavy, wet nature, which can be an extra strain to shovel,” the NWSC said. “It will also create added weight on power lines leading to possible power outages.”

Seniors or those with disabilities that need help shoveling snow can get aid through the village's Teen Link program.
