No 4th of July events are in Western Springs, but celebrations are happening in other towns.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – July 4 events across the country will not look the same this year thanks to the coronavirus. Many cities and towns have been forced to cancel their annual Fourth of July events. Although the village of Western Springs isn't holding major Fourth of July events, a few suburbs are:

Lemont

*The annual Independence Day extravaganza and fireworks show has been canceled, but the town is holding a parade.

Mokena

* Mokena's annual Fourth of July parade has been canceled, but a fireworks show is in the works.

New Lenox

  • What: New Lenox Fourth of July parade honoring essential workers
  • Where: The parade will follow Cedar Road down Haven to the Commons.

Orland Park

  • What: Fourth of July fireworks and music celebration
  • Where: Centennial Park
  • When: 7:15 p.m. music, 9:30 p.m. fireworks display
