50 Plants Uprooted In Western Springs: Cops

Damage also takes place at local elementary school.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — Western Springs police released their latest blotter Monday. Here is information from the reports:

  • Fifty plants were uprooted and scattered at Spring Rock Park on Central Avenue. The damage was reported June 6. The plants were valued at $400.
  • Outdoor seats at Forest Hills Elementary School, 5020 Central Ave., were reported damaged June 6. The concrete seats had small pieces broken off.
  • Mario A. Cordova-Velazquez, 43, of Round Lake Beach, was cited about 11 a.m. Saturday at Ogden and Howard avenues on charges of driving with a revoked license and expired registration. He also was wanted on a warrant. He was released on bond.
  • A resident in the 3900 block of Howard Avenue reported that two fraudulent checks were written on her bank account. The suspect tried to change the address on her account. The resident reported the crime June 8.
