Burglar steals eight rolls of copper wire from church
In three incidents of theft in Western Springs, none of the items were secured.
The following arrest information was supplied by the Western Springs Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Burglary
An unknown person or persons entered the First Congregational Church in the 1100 block of Chestnut Street through an unlocked door between 1 p.m. July 2 and 5:30 a.m. July 6 and took eight rolls of electronic copper wire valued at $6,400, according to Western Springs Police Reports.

Theft
An unattended and unlocked bicycle was stolen between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. July 1 behind Casey’s Market in the 900 block of Burlington Avenue, according to Western Springs Police Reports. The bicycle was valued at $550.

A parcel delivered by the United States Mail in the 3800 block of Howard Avenue was stolen from the front porch of the home, according to Western Springs Police Reports. The retail value of the contents was undetermined.
