Carole Grudzien Named “Best of Friends”

Each year the Western Springs Library Friends give out their “Best of Friends” award to recognize an individual’s hard work within the organization. This year, Carole Grudzien was nominated for her years of devotion to the Friends.

Carole has been on the Friends’ board for 20 years, was a secretary for two terms, and volunteered at book sales even before her work on the board. She works most if not all three days of each book sale, helps set up the Friends’ Christmas tree on the Village green each year, and writes the recognition notes that go out to all of the large Friends donors. A plaque with all of the “Best of Friends” recipients’ names hangs in the Library foyer, by the donation bin.
