District 101 Seeking Interested Candidates for 2019 School Board
Informational meeting to be held Monday, Oct 22, at McClure Library at 6 pm.

District 101 School Board and The District 101 School Board Election Committee are seeking interested candidates to run for 2019 School Board.
The Committee will hold an information session on October 22 in the McClure Library for interested citizens to learn more about School Board responsibilities, the candidate filing process, and the election.
Candidates for the office of school board can begin to circulate nominating petitions for signatures beginning September 18th, 2018. The county clerk may have petition forms available or blank petitions may be downloaded from the State Board of Elections website, http://www.elections.il/gov/.

The period for filing nominating papers for interested candidates runs from December 10th through December 17th, 2018 per the Cook County Board of Elections.
The Illinois Consolidated Election will be held on April 2, 2019. The Committee will hold an open forum for the community to hear from all School Board candidates on Thursday, March 14 at 7:00 pm in the McClure Junior High School Gymnasium.

The School Board is composed of seven members elected by the community to fulfill its powers and duties on behalf of the District. Each member of the School Board is elected on a non-partisan ballot for a four-year term. Candidates must be a citizen of the United States, at least 18 years old, a registered voter, a resident of Illinois and school District 101 for at least one year immediately preceding the election.
Candidates may also want to consult the “2019 Candidate’s Guide”, which may be downloaded from the State of Elections website, or get information about being on school board member from the Illinois Association of School Boards at www.iasb.com/elections.
