Drunk Driver Causes Crash, Had Illegal Baton in His Car: Police

On the blotter this week is a man who was keeping an illegal weapon in his car.

Last Friday, Western Springs cops arrested Adrian Missbrenner, 31, for not only driving drunk and causing an accident, but for having an illegal expandable baton in his car.

Missbrenner was driving around 10:30 p.m. when he crashed into the back of another car at 47th St. and Wolf Rd., the police reported, and officers were called to the scene. After noticing alcohol on his breath, his bloodshot eyes and slurred speech, police asked Missbrenner to conduct several sobriety tests, which he failed. He was arrested for a DUI.

Missbrenner was also charged with unlawful use of a weapon — an expandable baton police found on the floor behind the driver’s seat when they searched Missbrenner’s car.
