Here's what is open and closed in Western Springs on July 4th.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — The Fourth of July and unofficial middle of summer is quickly approaching. Independence Day is a federal holiday, which means that government offices are closed, and many people are also off work for the day. This year, July 4th falls on a Wednesday.

In Western Springs, here's what is open and closed:

  • Village of Western Springs Offices - Closed
  • Thomas Ford Memorial Library - Closed
  • Post offices - Closed
  • Garbage services - Families with Wednesday collection will be delayed one day with collection on Thursday, July 5. Households with Thursday collection will be delayed one day with collection on Friday, July 6 and so forth.

Most grocery stores and retail stores will be open, although they could have limited hours, so make sure to call or check before you head out.
