The romantic tragedy is about wealth and loose morals in the 1920s.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — The romantic tragedy, "The Great Gatsby," is the fourth Mainstage production of the Theatre of Western Springs' 91st season. It is directed by Greg Kolack, the theater's artist in residence. The play runs Feb. 27 to March 8 at the theater, 4384 Hampton Ave. It includes many performers and crew from Western Springs and surrounding towns.

The schedule is 8 p.m. Thursdays, Friday and Saturdays, and 2:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays and 7:30 p.m. Sunday, March 1.

"The Great Gatsby" is set in 1922 on Long Island during the time of loose morals, jazz and pretensions, according to a theater news release. The theater said "The Great Gatsby" explores the sociology of wealth, specifically how the newly-minted millionaires of the 1920s differ from and relate to the old aristocracy of the country's richest families.
